KARACHI: Sugar prices in the retail market have increased again by Rs2 per kg on Friday, traders said.
They said that the white refined crystal sugar is now tagged at Rs78 per kg which was earlier being sold at Rs76.
“The black-marketers have again jacked up sugar prices without quoting any valid reason,” said a trader.
The country is witnessing worst sugar crisis despite the fact that the government has sufficient stocks of at least 1 million tons in hand. The commodity has been appreciated by Rs14 a kg during last 35 days.
