Pakistan has deferred its plans to export surplus wheat, federal food and agriculture minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal informed a news conference on Monday.
"The government would be in a better position to comment on a possible export plan when the next crop is sown," the minister added.
The government, before worst flooding, announced that it is considering to export some 2 million tons of surplus wheat stocks.
"We can not export grain from the country in the situation (floods) like this," Gondal explained and further said that the floods have washed away ready crops and grain stocks.
