Gold broke all previous records and reached another level of Rs43,725 per tola amid hefty buying, economic woes and depreciating rupee, traders said Wednesday.
They said that 10-gram yellow metal has become costlier by Rs278 to Rs37478, while a tola (11.6grams) prices have incraesed by Rs325 and now tagged at Rs43,725.
The international gold market has also witnessed hefty buying as the investors believe that slowdown in economies could affect their capitals and gold is the best available option to go for.
"Consistently rising international gold and depreciating rupee are behind skyrocketing domestic gold," said President Sindh Saraf Jewelers Association, Haji Haroon Rashid Chand.
